With millions of people creating their own blogs, it’s not surprising to see the same blog templates being used over and over again. If you are serious about blogging or just want something unique then you’ll have to pay for a design (unless you’re a skilled designer yourself). You can either get a website or specialist blog designer to design something to meet your needs or download a ready made blog template.

WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms (you’re reading a WordPress blog right now) and they offer many free blog templates, known as themes. You can download any WordPress theme to change the design of your blog. However, there are two problems with these blog themes. Firstly, many of them don’t work properly. I spent ages searching for the right blog theme, uploading the files to my site, only to discover that it had one or more bugs, making it unusable. Secondly, if you spend any amount of time surfing the blogosphere you’ll soon come across your chosen free theme on another blog. If you spend a lot of time surfing the net then you’ll see the most popular themes popping up all over the place.

If you’re looking for decent blog website template then you have a few options. As I already mentioned, you can have a designer create a blog design to meet your specifications. That could cost from a couple of hundred dollars to a couple of thousand. The alternative is to download one of our affordable blog templates, most of which are priced at less than $70 (Australian dollars). These templates can be completely customised so you get exactly what you want. You can easily change the fonts and colours by making a few changes in the blog theme editor (when logged into WordPress) as well as changing the logo or any header images. You have complete control.

For a completely unique design you can pay the full price for the blog theme which will result in the template being removed from our database - meaning no one else will be able to download and use that theme. This is more costly, but the chances of you coming across the same blog template are extremely unlikely. Prices for a unique blog template start at around $900. Again it can be customised as you please or left as is.
